The Crystal Piano Bar located at the Galaxy Macau is a hidden gem that hasn’t received a lot of press. In fact, the Okura Macau Hotel in general has a lot of funky, hidden locations that don’t receive too much traffic. This makes it a great place to have a quiet one with you friends or clients, amongst stellar service, perfectly designed cocktails and a great cigar menu.

Located on the 28th floor of the Hotel Okura Macau, the lounge features views of both the Galaxy Resort pool deck, the Venetian Macao and even a bit of the Macau Peninsula. Inclusive of trendy decor, the centerpiece of the bar is a Crystal Piano with performances by a full jazz band nightly starting at 8:45pm.

An array of Japanese Whiskey and specialty cocktails are available. We highly recommend pairing whatever you drink with one of many cigars. The ambience of the live jazz combined with the ultra-cozy lounge chairs and amazing view with service to match should not be missed. Be sure to ask Macaustag to add this to next Macau entertainment package.

Despite its diminutive proportions, Macau is one of Asia’s brightest tourist spots. Each year, this small Chinese territory welcomes tens of millions of visitors, and the numbers continue to grow.

Its unique history and culture, abundance of landmarks, guided tours, shops and restaurants ensure that there’s no shortage of ways to keep yourself occupied in Macau during the day. But it’s only once the sun’s gone down that Macau truly comes to life.

Getting the party started

Source: http://allabout.co.jp/gm/gc/379457/

As with many popular tourist destinations, Macau’s night life is as varied as it is lively. For those looking to party in style, Macau’s thriving club scene and abundance of pubs and bars offers everything you could need.

Macau’s clubbing scene may still be growing, but as clubs like D2 and Sky 21 amply demonstrate, the Macanese can party with the best of them.

Although they open for business somewhat earlier, most clubs don’t really get going until after midnight. Fortunately, Macau also has a wide array of pubs and bars, and those looking to kick the evening off with a few drinks before hitting the dance floor are recommended to head down to an area known locally as ‘the docks’.

A relaxing evening out

Nevertheless, Macau also caters for those looking for a more relaxing evening out. As well as pumping night clubs and bustling bars, Macau also has a fantastic array of high-quality restaurants, chilled-out pubs and other establishments where you can enjoy yourself at your own pace.

Macau also has an abundance of karaoke bars and clubs as well, for those who wish to demonstrate their singing abilities.

Macau’s casinos – the ultimate night out

But ultimately, the real stars of Macau’s night life are its array of casinos. And regardless of whether you spend the evening in a traditional establishment such as the Grand Lisboa (Macau’s most famous casino), or one of the new Vegas-style behemoths like the Sands Macao or the Venetian Macao, you’ll be in for a great time.

Macau’s relationship with gambling has been long and fruitful. And regardless of whether you’re a seasoned gambler or just a curious newcomer, taking your place at a table in one of its many big casinos is a key part of the full Macau experience.

That said, you may not wish to spend the whole evening on the casino floor playing poker, roulette or blackjack. All of Macau’s big casinos are among the most lavish entertainment complexes in the world, famous for both their luxury and the wide variety of entertainment they offer.

All of them have a wide variety of bars, cafes and restaurants, including some of the finest in the territory. Most host shows, which can range from stand-up comics to theatre and musical productions. And some even host concerts for famous musicians from around the world.

Regardless of where your night travels take you though, one thing remains true: you’re bound to have a great evening in Macau!

Four years ago the founders of Macaustag arrived in Macau. Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing some very unique bars, restaurants and clubs, all in the name of “work”. However since day one, there were two locations that were always hailed by locals as “the” places to go in Macau. At least, while they were open.

Sky21 Macau and Tryst at the Wynn Macau were two destinations that everyone in the Macau clubbing and bar hopping scene raved about. Having both closed right before we arrived into Macau, there was always a bit of jealousy towards others that were able to experience these great locations. That is, until this past week.

While Tryst at Wynn Macau will most likely never make a new appearance, the Sky21 Bar Macau has. Having opened it doors just a few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of experiencing this beautiful rooftop bar first-hand. And our group has voted it best bar in Macau, hands down.

Let’s start with the dining experience. The 21st floor offers an amazing restaurant with great food options. WIth chefs hailing from Japan, China, Thailand, India and Macau, each course option is direct from one of these locations. For our vegetarian friends, you will be impressed with the options. Set meals are also available; each set representing a different country and prepared by experts in their countries cuisines.

Dinner was great, but on to the bar. Funny that sitting on the 22nd floor of the office tower, drinking against the backdrop of Macau Tower, Taipa or the Grand Lisboa and Macau peninsula, one feels as if they have left Macau and are instead among the skyscrapers of Hong Kong or Tokyo. And you won’t find hip hop and r&b here. Smooth jazz adds to the effect of the neon lights in the backdrop. No questions asked; this is the most unique bar in Macau.

Indoor and outdoor seating are available; heaters are setup outside for the winter months and we expect a cool blast of air conditioning in the summer. Wednesday and Thursday nights currently include live jazz; we’ll be checking that out next with some video to follow.

Even better are the hours. Weekdays the bar serves up until 2am; weekends until 3am. For those seeking the full-on club experience, D2 Nightclub is located directly downstairs.

For those seeking a truly personalized event, VIP dining rooms and private tables are available. For the ultimate in Macau cool-ness, the roof top bar (not open to the public) on the 23rd floor of Sky 21 Macau offers customers a private fire pit, full service bar, and enough room for 80 to 100 people. We imagine special events will be occurring in fireworks seasons, including Chinese New Year and the Macau Fireworks Festival.

Add Sky21 Macau to your next Macaustag itinerary. Perfect for groups or for client meetings, we agree with our friends that this is “the” place in Macau for cool cocktails and happy hours.

So we recently had the pleasure of hosting a party at the Altira Hotel Macau in Taipa. The restaurant of choice was Kira, a Japanese restaurant that did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in, you feel as if you’ve stepped out of Macau and into one of the finer hotels in Tokyo. Noticeable here is the service, which is above par with most establishments in Macau.

Kira Macau offers two distinct dining options; a-la-carte and “Kira Unlimited”. The party had previously decided on the Kira Unlimited menu. This option works really well for group events. Not your standard buffet; the Kira Unlimited menu offers your group a listing of fine Japanese dishes. None of the food is prepared ahead of time; everything if made fresh upon your order. The portions are small, allowing you to sample everything from fresh sushi and sashimi, lobster, Japanese noodles, and even local Tokyo style okonomiyaki (the Japanese pizza).

Tables by the window offer an amazing view of the Macau peninsula skyline. And for large groups, private dining is also available, in the form of a dining room or private teppanyaki bar. Also available is outdoor seating – great in the warmer months, outdoor seating offers amazing views set alongside a Japanese garden.

Now we know that this is not the traditional party venue. This is first class dining in Macau; so make sure your group is prepared. Dining at Kira is not suitable for loud groups looking to get wasted (at least not at dinner). However for a more refined event, such as a corporate outing or client dinner, Kira fits the bill. The unlimited package also includes all-you-can-drink beer, wine, soft drinks and sake (you get to choose your own unique sake glass). For larger groups who want to be entertained, the private teppanyaki bars offer a front row seat to the culinary action plus interaction with the chefs who make it all happen.
